Trigger types
The TRAPMASTER® Neo can be triggered either
- by an internal magnetic contact (pull-off magnet) (magnetic trigger) or
- by the integrated tilt sensor (tilt trigger).
The desired trigger type is set in the devices single view. You reach this view by clicking the menu item “devices” and then on the device name.
After changing the trigger type in the online management, re-attaching the battery is required. Please wait 15 seconds before re-attaching the battery.
Magnetic triggering
As soon as the magnet is torn off the housing, the device sends a catch.
Important: Use a very robust cord to connect the magnet with the moving element of your trap (e.g., lid or slider), e.g. a thin wire rope or cord with metal reinforcement. The cord must not be gnawed through, torn, or abraded.
Ensure a clamp-free connection between magnet and moving trap element.
Tilt triggering
Suitable for trap types that tilt clearly when triggered, e.g. suitcase traps or Trapper Profi “Neozoen.” Mounting on the rotating rod of a concrete tilt trap is also conceivable if accessible.
Not recommended is using the trap alert to monitor the swaying pipe of a concrete tilt trap.
You can specify an angle for tilt triggering (3 to 30 degrees).
IMPORTANT: Be sure to choose a trigger angle that is clearly smaller than the tilt angle of your trap, so catches are reliably detected even if the trap’s tilt range is reduced by leaves, branches, etc. from the ideal condition.
Please perform a few test triggers with the chosen angle setting.
How to set the trap alert live
Regardless of which trigger type you chose:
You activate monitoring by placing the magnet on the marked area again. Should the magnet still be attached to the device during tilt triggering, it must be removed once and re-attached.
Each catch setting is acknowledged by the trap alert with a beep and an LED flash.
ATTENTION: Wait until the LED has completely gone out. You should now have received the message “catch” (except for “SMS”).
From now on, catches will be reported!
