Install and test the combination sensor and magnet on the trap
The TRAPMASTER® Standard features a combination trigger system that can be used both as a contactless proximity switch (especially suitable, for example, for box traps) and as a pull-off magnet (suitable for many concrete pipe traps).
Important: Please do not sharply bend the sensor cable at the metal housing.

If the magnet is close enough to the proximity switch (without contact or attached directly), the switch closes. When the magnet moves away from the proximity switch as the trap doors close, the trap alert triggers an alarm.
As a contactless proximity switch
Attach the proximity switch and the magnet to your trap in such a way that, when the trap is set, they are almost touching or are less than 1 cm apart, and when the trap doors close, they move clearly (> 5 cm) and permanently away from each other.

With this type of installation, monitoring is automatically reactivated when you reset the trap.
As a pull-off magnet
If you prefer triggering via a pull-off magnet, you can also attach the magnet using a cord or wire rope (recommended for protection against animal bites), for example to the sliding doors of concrete pipe traps or to other moving parts inside the trap. The magnet is then attached to the aluminum tube. You can mount the aluminum cylinder in a suitable location, for example on the crossbeam above the sliding door.
Trap set:

Please note, however, that with this setup you must manually reattach the magnet every time you reset the trap!
Important: When installing the magnet, make sure that after the trap is triggered, the magnet cannot immediately swing back toward the proximity switch. Both elements should remain permanently separated (until the trap is reset). Otherwise, a catch could be overwritten by the (in this case unintended) automatic reactivation and may go unnoticed. This applies especially to installations on the linkage of concrete pipe traps.

Tighten the cable gland
The TRAPMASTER® Standard housing offers a high level of protection against moisture with IP67 protection class. The same applies to the sensor cable gland, which is tightly fastened during final assembly.
However, materials may loosen slightly over time. We therefore recommend manually checking that the cable gland is securely tightened before using the device for the first time and at the beginning of every hunting season, and tightening it slightly if necessary (turn clockwise to tighten).
